Amber Hoffman, BS
Amber Hoffman, Fitness Center Manager, graduated from MacMurray College with a B.S. in Sport Management. While at MacMurray, she participated in basketball and volleyball and spent most of her time in the weight room. Competing in college as small forward, Amber knew she had to be stronger than her opponents. As the only girl who voluntarily used the weight room, she saw the need to educate her teammates. This led to her personal training career which she has been in for more than 6 years. Amber spent time as a personal trainer and fitness manager at a well known for-profit facility. She loved training and changing the lives of individuals, but there was always something missing. She began her search and found the perfect "fit" at The National Institute for Fitness and Sport!
Philosophy:
Once Amber begins to work with an individual, she feel responsible for their improvement. She feels it is her job to make sure they look and feel like they are working with a trainer. Creating a program won't make a difference unless a person is educated or motivated to do it. She loves working with and challenging those of all fitness levels. Her joy comes from seeing individuals reach their goals and achieving what they once thought to be impossible.

Tony Maloney, BS
Tony graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Health and Safety Education from right here at IUPUI (Go Jags!!). After graduation he went on to teach Physical Education and Health for the grade levels of K-8. During this time, he coached at both the middle school and high school levels in the sports of football, basketball, and track. Conditioning programs for different sports and fitness levels was and still is a hobby of his and he set up programs for different teams and individuals.
After teaching a group for five years, he decided to educate himself on a personal level and began training individuals at a gym. Since coming to NIFS, he has trained clients of different fitness levels, many of which have decided to stay on with him for further instruction. He has also developed and instructed the BOSU Conditioning program and is planning countless programs for the members here at NIFS.
Specialties:
- Core stability/Balance training (BOSU specialist)
- Weight loss and body fat reduction
- Sport specific goal training
Philosophy:
Tony feels he is an educator, not a mechanic. It's his obligation to give you the tools which allow you to make the specific lifestyle and activity changes to reach your goals, not to simply "fix" you. He feels very confident that when you leave a session with him, you will know not only what you did, but why. He is the youngest of six boys, all athletes and he has pursued physical goals all of his life. He would like to pass that passion on to the clients who work with him.

Testimonials
"I started working out at NIFS in November 2006 with Emily Jackson as my fitness instructor in the Weight Loss Program. Emily has been the primary reason why I have continued attending the sessions all these months. I usually lose interest after three months or so because I get bored and tired of the commitment, as well as not being able to see any discernable results. Working with Emily, I am still enthusiastic about coming to NIFS two times a week even though I start at around 7:00 am and I am not a morning person. Emily has been very good about designing workouts that challenge me but not so hard that I get discouraged. She pushes but not in your face too much. She also is very creative in selecting exercises so I do different things and the workout does not become repetitive. Her program is creating positive results because my husband said he could tell a difference. I really have not lost that much weight but my clothes are fitting better. Emily really knows her stuff! She also has a great positive and energetic personality that makes her fun to be around, and she genuinely cares about my achieving success through the NIFS program. Emily is the real deal: educated, talented and committed to the success and good health of her clients."
