NIFS hosts a field trip program reaching thousands of Central Indiana youth annually. Volunteers are a vital part in making this a successful experience for the visiting schools. Field trips are scheduled during the week, Monday thru Friday, usually between the hours of 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Volunteers are required to sign up for three to four field trips per month, depending on the monthly field trip schedule. Each field trip runs between 1 ½ to 2 hours. Volunteers will be responsible for setting up and tearing down all equipment used for the activities, leading the students from activity to activity and promoting fun through fitness by setting a good example. Applications are accepted for energetic and enthusiastic students and professionals who have a passion for fitness education and want to become a Youth Fitness Mentor Volunteer.
