The National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) would like to invite you to participate in a very special event — our 2nd annual Silent Auction to benefit the Lifestyle Rx Scholarship Program. We need your help to make it a success.

Please mark your calendar now and plan to visit the online auction at www.nifs.org between December 1st and December 15th.

Your support is vital to the success of this silent auction event. YOU can help save a life.

If you prefer to make a donation, your name and/or company's logo will be displayed on the NIFS website and throughout the NIFS building during the months of November 2008-January 2009. In addition to helping to save a life, is a great opportunity to advertise to NIFS 4,000+ members and the community of Indianapolis, Indiana.

All auction proceeds go toward individuals with medical needs who would benefit from using the NIFS facility:

Lifestyle Rx is the medically-based fitness program at the National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS). Designed for people with chronic but stable health conditions or diseases, the goal of Lifestyle Rx is to teach participants how to manage and prevent the progression of their condition(s) or disease(s) through exercise, self-monitoring, and education regarding healthy lifestyle behaviors. Lifestyle Rx has helped individuals get off diabetes medication, stop smoking, and recover from heart attacks. Many of our clients have survived, or are successfully living with, heart and kidney transplants, neurological disorders, and pulmonary disease.

Much of this population, because of age, disability or inability to work, is unable to pay for a supervised exercise program that benefits their medical condition. The Scholarship Program allows them to exercise at NIFS for a reduced rate or free of charge.

Unfortunately, we receive many more applications for the Scholarship Program than we can serve, but with your help, we can increase that number so that more individuals can enjoy a higher quality of life.
