TITLE OF POSITION:

Personal Trainer

Indianapolis, IN

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The National Institute for Fitness and Sport is seeking an outgoing trainer who loves to motivate others and has innovative techniques to share.

DATE POSITION ANNOUNCED

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a health-related field.
  • American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal TrainerSM, National Academy of Sports Medicine OPTTM or CPT Certification and/or National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer® preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability and desire to work with personal training clientele including individuals and groups, youth to seniors, beginners to competitive athletes.
  • Trainers are responsible for promoting the personal training program at NIFS, developing and maintaining a client base and for staying current on certifications and industry trends.

Fitness Instructor

LOCATION OF POSITION:

Indianapolis, IN

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) is in search of a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about fitness and sharing this passion with others.

DATE POSITION ANNOUNCED

September 9, 2008

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in physical education, exercise physiology, kinesiology or health education from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Two years experience in program management and exercise testing desirable, but not necessary.
  • ACSM Health Fitness Specialist or equivalent certification desired.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course completion card.
  • Communication skills to instruct and interact effectively with individuals in a large fitness setting required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the daily supervision and administration of a fitness center.
  • Conduct personal fitness evaluations.
  • Prescribe exercise programs.
  • Maintain participant files.
  • Support co-workers in the development and implementation of fitness and wellness incentive programs.
  • Aid in development and instruction of group classes for participants and continuing education for staff.
  • Work to deliver exceptional customer service to all members and guests through personal interaction and aggressive hospitality.
