Below is a list of our current programs:

Preschool/Kindergarten

  • 15-minute interactive fitness presentation introducing students to the meaning of “exercise” and how it helps our bodies.
  • Fitness Center activities may include track relays, scooters, obstacle course, parachute and agility relays.
  • Cost: $3.75 per student.

1st/2nd Grades

  • 25-minute interactive fitness presentation exploring many different ways to exercise and the benefits – healthy, strong muscles, bones and heart.
  • Fitness Center activities may include treadwall (rotating rock-climbing wall), track relays, scooters, obstacle course, parachute, crab soccer and agility relays.
  • Cost: $4.75 per student.

3rd/4th/5th Grades

  • 25-minute interactive fitness presentation examining the positive effects of exercise, including an introduction to heart disease and its prevention as well as making healthy food choices.
  • Fitness Center activities may include treadwall (rotating rock-climbing wall), track relays, fitness circuit, crab soccer, scooters, agility relays and beachball volleyball.

6th/7th/8th Grades

  • 25-minute interactive fitness presentation examining the positive effects of exercise, common injuries that occur during exercise or sports, a detailed look into how to maintain a healthy weight (calories in equals calories out), healthy eating habits and preventing heart disease.
  • Fitness Center activities may include treadwall (rotating rock-climbing wall), track and agility relays, use of cardiovascular equipment (Ellipticals, Arc Trainers, Stairmasters, etc), fitness circuit, introduction to resistance training machines and beachball volleyball.
  • Cost: $4.75 per student.

High School

  • Field trip consists of 90 minutes of activity in the Fitness Center. Students will have the opportunity to discuss body composition, components of fitness and metabolism with a NIFS Health Fitness Instructor as he/she demonstrates how to measure body composition using the BOD POD machine. Demonstration only; students’ body composition will not actually be determined.
  • Fitness Center activities may include treadwall (rotating rock-climbing wall), track and agility relays, cardiovascular equipment (Ellipticals, Arc Trainers, Stairmasters, etc.), fitness circuit, beachball volleyball and BOD POD demonstration (calculating body composition).
  • Cost: $5.75 per student.
