IUPUI Names Jaime Waymouth Strength and Conditioning Coach
INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department and Athletics Director Michael Moore announced that Jamie Waymouth will serve as the Jaguars‘ Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2007 – 2008 campaign. He replaces Chad Odaffer, who oversaw IUPUI’s strength and conditioning for two seasons.
Waymouth graduated from DePauw University in with a B.A. in Exercise Science. While at DePauw, he was a three-year letterwinner on the football team, earning Second Team All-Conference honors from his offensive tackle position. He also helped DePauw capture the Monon Bell his junior year.
He is certified with the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health/Fitness Instructor and recently became a Functional Movement Screening Specialist. He also specializes in strength training and core conditioning, having trained numerous athletes while working at the National Institute for Fitness and Sports (NIFS).
Previously, he was an intern at St. Vincent Sports Performance under Ralpf Rieff. While there, he assisted in helping train members of the Indianapolis Colts, among other professional athletes.
An Indianapolis native, Waymouth attended Bishop Chatard High School and was a member of two Class 3A IHSAA State Championship squads.
“I’m excited for the opportunity,” Waymouth said. “It’s going to be a new challenge to work with Division I student-athletes, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.”
He is scheduled to begin duties immediately.
