Aerobic Capacity (VO2) Assessment
Get better results in weight-loss
or in aerobic performance with a VO2 assessment!
With a VO2 assessment your body’s oxygen consumption can be measured directly instead of indirectly or estimated. The relation of oxygen consumption to heart rate helps to determine accurate individual target heart rate zones. Since this relation differs significantly from person to person, with this information specific target zones can be determined that produce results more efficiently for everything from weight loss to improved aerobic endurance.
Follow-Up Assessments
As your VO2 is reassessed, you can objectively see improved efficiency of the heart and lungs and reset target intensities as your fitness level improves.
What to Expect During the Test
During this assessment a comfortable breathing mask is placed over your mouth and nose while you engage in an aerobic activity. Tubes from the facemask are connected to a sensor and computer that measure the air exhaled while conducting the test. The full VO2 assessment takes approximately 60 minutes. (Maximal VO2 testing is available.)
Cost
Member initial visit: $100
Non-member initial visit: $115
Follow-up visits (for member and non-member): $75

Resting Metabolic Rate
Discover what your body‘s basic caloric needs are to determine a nutrition and exercise action plan that fits your unique needs!
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) refers to the rate in which the body uses calories needed for pumping blood through the body, inhaling and exhaling air, maintaining body temperature and various other processes necessary for life. With the New Leaf System, RMR can directly be measured and the results can be used to create personal nutrition and exercise action plans to facilitate weight loss or weight maintenance.
What to Expect
You will have a breathing mask placed over your nose and mouth, which will measure the air you exhale while you lie down in a comfortable position in a dimly lit room. Tubes from the facemask are connected to a sensor and computer that measure the air exhaled while conducting the test. For accurate results the best time for this assessment is early morning shortly after you wake up. The full RMR assessment takes approximately 1 hour.
Cost
Member initial visit: $75
Non-member initial visit: $85
Follow-up visits (for member and non-member): $50
