Learn more about Pump it for Parkinson's:

Why:

Parkinson’s Disease is the second most diagnosed neurodegenerative condition behind Alzheimer’s, and we know that exercise has proven to delay the onset and severity of symptoms. Pump it for Parkinson’s is an education-based fitness event to raise awareness on the benefits of exercise for people with Parkinson’s and connecting them to fitness resources. And a special thank you to our partners at NuStep and the Parkinson's Foundation for supporting our program efforts.

What:

Pump it for Parkinson’s is a daylong step-a-thon during Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Originally hosted in senior living communities, the program has now spread to senior centers, corporate wellness, and various gym settings. Participating locations receive a toolkit of materials to help them plan, promote, and host a great event. Whether tracking steps on a NuStep seated recumbent trainer, in group exercise classes, walking, or other cardio equipment, every step counts in helping us reach our goal

Goal:

In 2023, we had a goal of 1 million steps to honor the 1 million people living in the US with Parkinson’s and we crushed it achieving over 3.8 million steps. As we continue to grow, so does our goal. We are striving for 50 million steps on Thursday, April 9, 2026. We need your organization’s help so plan to get involved when registration opens on February 1, 2026. Participating locations will have a chance to win great prizes including a NuStep T6 recumbent trainer!
